Our take on The Archers podcast
The Archers is a contemporary drama about life in an English Farming village. It is the world's most extended drama and has been on air since 1950 on BBC Radio 4. This show is set in the fictional town of Ambridge, Borsetshire.
The Archers mainly depicts real-time events occurring within the time frame of the broadcast date and, as a result, covers many topical issues. Some of the contemporary social problems that the drama has portrayed include rural drug addiction, rape, including rape in marriage, inter-racial relationships, direct action against genetically modified crops and badger culling, family break-ups, and civil partnerships.
