Listener reviews

Alastraea - 04/02/2025
The medical stories are really interesting, but I have to say, please let the guests talk! We don't need Anna's interjections and interruptions every two minutes. It is incredibly rude to your guest who is trying to tell their story, especially when you laugh and say insensitive things. I just listened to your latest episode, Leah's story, and my jaw just dropped when you said she sounded annoying as a patient. You followed it up with a qualifier but it was still so rude! I would never want to come on your show for any reason, with how you won't let people tell their story. I really wanted to like your show but Anna makes it unbearable. Please learn how to be more sensitive to your guests and a better listener. I noticed when Anna's story (the first episode) aired, Anna was allowed to talk with minimal interruption. Please afford your guests the same respect and courtesy. As for me, I will not be listening any more because I become too enraged on behalf of your guests.
Anna - 02/12/2025
As someone who has followed the host's (Anna's) "journey," there is no mystery to solve. Other reviews have correctly indicated the same. She has done little, to no, real work in order to assist her diagnoses or reverse health issues caused by her weight. Platforming her, and allowing her to spew her misinformation to the masses under the guise, and with assistance from a licensed health professional, is truly alarming and should not be supported. She is overweight due to severe overeating in conjunction with lack of activity and potential underlying health issues, but that's exactly the point. She may have legitimate health problems, but her weight is severely negatively impacting her overall health and quality of life. Unfortunately, Anna finds it easier to throw up her hands and question the health system than actually put in the effort to get on track and improve her wellbeing. I'm sure there are much better podcasts which dive into the these important topics with qualified and honest individuals. Give your time to the others, as there is nothing to hear within this one except excuses and a severe case of victimhood.

Spreads blatant medical misinformation

The Dr who refused her an exam & PAP smear should lose their license for malpractice. Your risk of female organ cancers goes up 800% for morbidly obese women. ANY woman who hasn't had a PAP smear within a year should be given one. The rest of this is hooey. We've seen and heard contradictions about her overeating junk for years, from Anna herself.

It wasn't very enjoyable. It seemed edited in some parts and the quality isn't great. There was medical misinformation that the surgeon just kind of agreed with. Anna said she has genetic conditions based on a test she did where the doctor who tested her said it's never been seen before. If it's never been seen before then it's not a condition and you can't say it caused all Anna's problems. Obesity is a big risk factor for lipedema. Anna lost a lot of weight and body fat in the past, with the same genetics. I think she's correct in wondering if what her doctors are saying is really true. Also she's been led to feel that she's genetically defective and perhaps shouldn't even have kids based on that. Her doctors seem irresponsible. That said, Anna speaks well without excessive umms or pauses etc. Dr. Nance didn't have much input. Based on first episode - Anna's story
